Tree walk, Abenaki Youth Dance, live music Thursday at the Intervale June 25, 2008 BURLINGTON -- This week's Thursdays at the Intervale features line-up of dancing, talks, flatbread and live music. The events start at 5:30 p.m. at the Intervale Center's Calkins Community Barn, 80 Intervale Road, just past Gardener's Here's what's on tap:
-- Tree walk with Intervale Conservation Nursery Manager Leah Szafranski. -- Circle of Courage Abenaki youth dance group with flute playing and teachings about generosity, independence, belonging and mastery, followed by a short talk by Chief April St. Francis Merrill and Intervale Center representatives about Abenaki history at the Intervale. -- Live folk music by Ryan Fauber and Friends. -- Free American Flatbread from the onsite wood-fired hearth (donations accepted for Healthy City). -- Kids activities. http://www.burlingtonfreepress.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080625/NEWS/80625018 |
