Vermont Tribal Recognition awaits Governor's Signature

The Vermont Senate passed H.85, An act relating to recognition of the Nulhegan Band of the Coosuk Abenaki Nation as a Native American Indian tribe and H.86 An act relating to recognition of the Elnu Abenaki tribe as a Native American Indian tribe.
The Vermont House passed both bills back on Feb 10, 2011.
Both bills now await Governor's Shumlin's signature.
