Dear Representatives Opinion More than half of the states that comprise the U.S. have passed or is passing legislation declaring their 10th Amendment sovereignty to the federal government due to the obvious neglect of the U.S. Constitution and those of the several states. Recent events in Washington D.C. have resulted in a wave of State Legislators taking the lead in sponsoring legislation which informs the federal government that the respective state will enforce its 10th amendment sovereignty and reject laws, policies, and actions that infringe upon the rights and liberties guaranteed by the Constitution and Bill of Rights.
Issues such as the Right to Bear Arms, Freedom of Speech, Taxation, Emergency Powers/Martial Law, Posse Comitatus, Bank Nationalization, and even National Sovereignty have prompted State Representatives to take the necessary measures to ensure our American freedoms and liberties. Personally, I find it difficult to believe (or even stomach) that relinquishing my freedom will result in global peace and prosperity. My point... When will Vermont stand up to re-declare our Constitutional rights? As a citizen of Vermont and a representative of the Nulhegan Abenaki community, the Vermont Indigenous Alliance, and the Vermont Campaign for Liberty, I urge you to research this issue and move quickly to introduce the proper legislation in the best interests of Vermonters. I would be happy to provide you with any information that you need. In peace, Chief Luke Willard Orleans, VT |
