Ndakinna Cultural Center closing its doors

Will its current services to the public at large stop?

How will this effect the local Native communities as a whole?

Does closing the center affect the 501 (C) (3) Non profit status of Ndakinna Cultural Center and Museum INC ?

Ndakinna Cultural Center Located in East Calais Vermont, is one of the areas historical museum & Cultural Centers for the Abenaki people.

As outlined in an email sent out today by Todd Hebert, Owner-Operator, President of Ndakinna Cultural Center and Museum INC, stated:

Subject line "Sad News"

"It is with heavy heart that I need to announce we will be closing our location in East Calais. The economy has taken its toll on us and we can no longer afford to run a physical location. There is a big sale going on with our remaining inventory from now until the end of June. Most items are 50% off. At this time we are planning to continue operating  as a non profit without  the costs associated with having a building. Please check our website www.Ndakinna.org  for any updates as they come in.
